Muddy Princess Fun Run

I attended the Muddy princess event that was held in Midrand on the 3rd of November 2018. It was my first time and I was very excited as I had bought mine and my friends tickets months in advance. To my dismay there was no value for money here. A 5km race where funds are raised for a good cause but not much effort was put into the event.

As a person who attends a lot of events of this nature I was beyond disappointed. Ticket costs between R250 - R350. No free shirt for the event, you have to pay for photos that are taken of you at the event because they are not shared on any site, if you would like to shower the mud off after the race you must pay for that, no poncho's or car seat covers are provided to participants (like ones provided at the colour run), goodie bag contents were boring - they should've just given us a chocolate and juice instead of all those boring pamphlets. And lastly, there was absolutely no entertainment provided for every 1km milestone to keep people energized. Just loooooong walks of silence or chatting, which is not great because people can feel that they have beeeeeen walking/running for ages and it's not ending. Also no boards for every KM ran/walked were displayed on the course.

As a disappointed first timer, I wouldn't recommend this event for anyone unless you truly want to contribute to the cause. Other than that, there is no value for money here.
