Muchwin Projects – Winton Chauke

I engaged Winton Chauke of Muchwin Projects for the supply and installation of blinds.

I paid a 70% deposit of R5,494.30 on 05 December 2024, with the understanding that the balance of R2,354.70 would be paid on the installation day. The installation was scheduled for the following week.

Mr Chauke later informed me that there had been a death at his home. I accepted this explanation and allowed him time in good faith. However, the blinds were never installed.

On 25 July 2025, he made a partial refund of R1,500, leaving an outstanding balance of R3,994.30, which remains unpaid to date. It is now 2026.

Since then, Mr Chauke has repeatedly promised to repay the outstanding amount, often stating that he has ongoing projects, but no further payment has been made. Communication has become increasingly difficult, and I have since been blocked on his social media platforms.

Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others. Once a deposit is paid, there appears to be a serious risk of non-delivery and prolonged delays in obtaining a refund.
