Debt review is a hoax in our country & its messing with our lives. Something must be done soon.

In February 2016, I asked for the services of MSV Corporation for debt counselling. I was asked to change banking details so that they can debit R11000 that will help pay my debts at a reduced payment rate which is supposed to be the normal procedure. After June 2016 I strangely received some letters from the creditors wanting me to do repayments and I communicated with MSV Corporation and they kept promising that they will fix everything. I later on found out that other accounts have been removed from debt review i.e. all the Standard Bank accounts which include the vehicle, house, loans and I have accumulated too much interest such that the car and the house are soon to be repossessed. I researched and asked for advice and the direction was the NCR office and the Ombudsman. They did not help me at all other than telling me that they are investigating the debt counsellor. I recently found out that I can bring this matter in this forum. I feel that MSV Corporation took me for a ride, they did not live up to the promise to help me pay my debts at a rate that would enable me to recover and Alfonzo Pedro (Debt counsellor) was so silent when I needed advice on this matter. The car has been repossessed and the house will also be auctioned at the end of this month. I have made arrangements to pay other debts. One interesting part is that one of MSV Corporation agents (Abdur Rahim) asked me to pay more & I did (R14500) and this led to bad state in my house. I then reduced it on my side to R13500 and come end of this month I’ll revert back to the original R11000 because I need to start paying other creditors since they want to attach everything in the house to recover their money.
