Msunduzi Municipality in chaos.

We have been having power cuts-sometimes 6 times a day for the past 4-6 weeks. Mostly they last about 5 minutes -just long enough to trip everything and ruin appliances. My daughter who is working in JBG from home says its the same there. Between last night and 8 this morning the power tripped here at home in PMBG four times-the lights were going on and off. To try and get someone from Council to pick the phone up is another story-I am not sure if those council buildings are even occupied anymore!! If you do get someone to pick up -they pick up and then immediately hang up-CALL ENDED says the phone. This Govt is ruining RSA in every way possible-what kind of unskilled and lazy people are they employing? I worked there for 22 years and would never have dreamed of ignoring my phone. You can't get hold of Consolidated Billing to even find out how much your account is-you have to guess. I begrudge every cent they receive because Msunduzi has one of the worst reputations for management. Sometimes you get emailed accounts and sometimes not. Ineffiency at it's best. Our garbage has been sitting outside since yesterday (pickup day) -I guess they have also taken the year off. The situation is beyond shocking..

Yet again problems with Msunduzi Municipality. On Sunday from lunchtime we were without electricity-and again yesterday. Worse even than that, is the way the call centre operates or should I say doesn't operate! They are there to take calls and THEY DO NOT PICK UP THEIR PHONES no matter how many times you phone. As ratepayers and taxpayers we are ENTITLED to report faults. It is our money that pays their salaries. They should be reminded of that. Incompetency runs rampant and so does laziness. How hard it is to pick up a phone, take a report and give a reference number? Even the most unskilled person can do it-why can't they? It is appalling in the extreme. Unfortunately we have to pay them money monthly -for that money we get ad hoc shocking service. Sometimes I wonder if anyone even occupies those buildings anymore. One thing is for sure - at least one person is there -the one who takes our monthly money. Wake up Msunduzi-we pay your salaries.
