MSC Starlight cruises

I have just returned from a trip on MSC Splendida to Walvis Bay. It was a horrific experience, and I shall never again do it or tell anyone else to do it. The ship was completely overbooked and understaffed. No matter where you went you had to queue, especially at the many bars on board. It took about half an hour to buy one drink most of the time. At each bar there was mostly one barman and one cashier. The barman had to prepare ****tails and serve other drinks for each new order, so the queues got longer and longer when he had to prepare, for instance, 3 ****tails for one passenger. The barmen were all surly and rude to add insult to injury. The food was reasonable, but one night we had to wait 3 hours for our food after we had ordered it! On the way up the sports bar's televisions had no signal! On the way down it was excruciating to sit and watch sport, as there is a kiddies 10 pin bowling deck in the same room, so you were constantly bombarded by shrieks and hard ***** hitting the wood 5 metres away from you. There was no sound on the televisions, but it wouldn't have helped, as the noise was overpowering. One afternoon it was a little quieter and I wanted to watch cricket, and none of the three different channels was on cricket. I went down and queued (you guessed it) at reception to request a change of channel. The person helping me telephoned the channel change department. It was 15H00. They told him that they were off-duty and will change the channel at 18H00! We arrived back in Cape Town at about 08H00 this morning, and were only able to disembark at 13H30. NEVER AGAIN
