Msc splendida. A total waste of money.

This was supposed to be a nice holiday enjoying a new experience. It turned out to be the so bad that I couldn’t wait to get off the ship. My fiancé and I went for a cruise on Msc splendida for 6 nights. As soon as I boarded the ship I got a charge on my credit card of R2820. I enquired and found out that they hold back 150$ and will supposedly return what you don’t use. I ended up using more and they pulled the extra off my credit card. When I disembarked they charged my credit card an extra R4110 over and above what the R4000 that was previously charged correctly. I have an enquiry opened till this date and I had to even get a new credit card.

When going to pomene island we waited from 07:00 to 15:00 to get onto a boat that went to the island, only to find out that all places are closed for purchases on the island and everyone is already packing to come back. We were there for less than an hour and then we waited another 2 hours to get back to the ship. We never ended up going to Portuguese island.

Ironing a shirt and pants works out to about R190. That’s madness.

Wi-Fi is extremely expensive. Like R600 per day. The cheaper options disappear after the first night of being on the ship.

I will never go back on a cruise. The worst experience. Msc splendida is a total waste of money.
