MSC possible ****.
I have been on +- 8 cruises locally and recently went on the Splendida on the 19th February (supposed to travel to the island of Pomene). I have recently lost my husband and decided to take a memory trip on my own. Early the following day before anchoring at Pomene, clients were informed we were going to the Portugese Island, apparently due to bad weather. The weather for the entire cruise period was perfect, no rain, no swells at all. (which they have done to death). I had booked an excursion for Pomene, it was refunded before I even went to investigate about the changes. Then that evening the itinerary for the destination was already printed with Portugese Isand as the destination. When we arrived at the Portugese island and I disembarked onto the island, there were hundreds of vendors, fully stocked and waiting for the clients to arrive. My question is this, how bad was the weather to cancel the original destination, and secondly, how on earth did the vendors get notified so quickly of the ship arriving on the island. Bush telegraph. I spoke to other passengers and they were also perplexed about this situation. I did send a message to the MSC organization about my concerns. I truly feel in my gut that this was the intention all along to go to the Portugese Island, but they would've lost customers if told, as they have done the trip on too many occassions. I was really looking forward to seeing another island and think that I have been ****med. I would like this to be investigated thoroughly.
