MSC "NOT" CRUISING

I have something to share. We recently went on an MSC cruise from Durban, the Portuguese islands, Pomona and back to Durban (4 nights). All good so far..we left Durban at lunchtime on the Monday and arrived at the Portuguese islands somewhere during the evening. We spent the Tuesday on the island and had to board again by 3pm to prepare for the trip to Pomena. From about 4pm we started receiving announcements that they experienced some technical problem with the launching ferry doors. This continued until about 6 or 7pm that evening. They then made an announcement that the trip to Pomena is delayed due to weather conditions.

Here is the thing ! We stayed at anchor at the Portuguese island until Friday evening when we returned to Durban. For our ""inconvenience" of not cruising the seas as per the planned trip, all adults were given a $20 dollar refund but it had to be spent on the ship before disembarking in Durban.

I wrote a letter to MSC Cruises and to say at best, their response was pretty disappointing in that the excuse was that the entire trip is left to the discretion of the Captain. Word on the ship was that this happens often.

My gripe is this...we all paid a small fortune for this cruise which ended being at anchor for 4 days at the same place.....this is not what we paid for and their attitude of "tough luck" is very disappointing and it is unlikely that I for one, will ever go on any of their trips or recommend it.

I am very disappointed with MSC Cruises and suggest anyone planning a cruise, to do your homework before booking for one of those bucketlist "To do" trips !!
