MSC Non refundable deposit.
i have booked a cruize for January 2021, however due to the lockdown and Corona Virus, we have decided not to go on this cruize, due to the current situation and considering the health and safety of my 2 kids who are 4 and 5 years old. when i spoke to a lady from MSC, she advised that the deposit of R3000 will be forfieted if we do not go on the cruize. i also spoke to a Mr Zweli Zondi from MSC who also told me the same thing. when i asked to speak to a manager, he advised that they are all in a meeting. i left my details with his and he advised that one of the managers will get back to me. to this day i am still waiting. i requested that MSC keep my deposit and when it is safe for me to travel i will utilize the same deposit. he told me this is not posible. it is not in my control of what is going on in the world regarding Corona virus, and MSC can not see this. it is so easy to forfiet someones deposit without even thinking of the current situation around the world. and it is not like that cabin is not booked out again. i have booked the cruize in February 2020 and paid my deposit, however, we were then faced with this pandemic that is beyond everyones control. and to date it is not safe for my family to travel. why cant MSC understand that part. they just want to take your deposit and then book the cabin to someone else and charge them as well. its really pathetic for a big company like MSC.
