MSC make changes without worrying about customers

We booked for the Matric cruise departure 30 November - 4 December the date changed to February. The new date doesn't suite us but they are not willing to give our deposit back or allow us to transfer money to somebody else. They referred me to finesse who said they just do Marketing. The old agreement has elapsed we cannot agree to the new one and we must be penalized?
