Mediterranean Shipping Company using fly-by-night truck companies

On the 21st of February my car was involved in an accident with a truck that drove into my car's driver's side. It hit the passenger seat and continued to crash the driver's door while squashing my car against the pavement. The truck driver named Daniel Mpofu was very rude and refused to give his details but only produced a delivery note. The details he also gave to the police were incomplete. I have tried calling the numbers on the delivery note's letterhead with a company called Batho Pele since then and cellphone number is always on voicemail and the lady who answers the landline denies any knowledge of this company. The delivery note had 2 stamps from Mediterranean Shipping company - Johanessburg which I called and spoke to their Claims manager Oliver then send pics of the accident with number plates and he said the truck does not belong to them but only the cargo did.

My questions are; how can a big international company like MSC work with fly-by-night companies? Is this a way to cut costs or they do this to protect themselves from any problems happening in the roads like this and let poor people go on to suffer from their rude unqualified drivers? How many times have they got away with this? And should we let these big companies continue to terrorize poor people and get away with it?

This is my only car which was not insured because I cannot afford to. Now I have to pay more money for my children to be taken to school by someone else while I walk to work. They obviously have a way of tracking whose truck was carrying their cargo using a number plate I provided to them but they did not want to do so.
