Call Centre provides no service

I have been calling MSC Cruises to make a reservation as per the Groupon voucher given to us since 10 am yesterday. I asked for reservations, as per instructions on the voucher. However, either I wait so long that my calls are cut off, or am transferred where no one answers. When one of my calls was answered I was asked for a booking number. I explained that the Groupon voucher does not have a booking number and the agent put the phone down. I had to call yet again, and then asked for a booking number. I was asked to email the Groupon voucher to them to verify. I received proof of receipt, but no further communication. This took me to around 2.30 pm. Further follow up calls today have ended up being transferred with no one answering.

The voucher expires 7 days from date of purchase - I called their call centre the day after receiving the voucher.

Surely Call Centres have a reason for existence? If a company takes part in Groupon, their staff need to know how to handle such queries. Furthermore it is totally unacceptable for staff to put the phone down on customers, especially when a trip has been paid for.
