Unauthorised implementation of debt review process
I was contacted by MSA Consultants approximately 3 weeks ago wrt debt review and what it entails. The consultant, Sydney, stated that no steps towards implementation would be taken until I have given written consent. I was then contacted by a second consultant who asked me several questions and further explained exactly how the debt review process would work should I choose to use it. I again confirmed several times that nothing would be implemented until I have given written consent, i.e a signed copy of my ID.
I have not forwarded any signed documentation to this company, and yet 2 weeks ago, when trying to access my account, I was informed by my bank that I had been placed under debt review. I have since then tried umpteen times to contact the company to cancel what they have implemented without my consent, and the 3 times I have managed to get hold of a consultant all 3 have said that they have notified the relevant department within their company and that someone from that department would call me within 5 to 10 days. I have not received a single call to date, and yet their consultants have time to view whatsapp statuses as displayed in attached photo (see Malika).
My bank also informed me that it would take approximately 30 days for my credit record to be restored to what it was before. I feel aggrieved and extremely unhappy as this has now had a ripple effect on my finances and financial responsibilities.
MSA Consultants does not seem interested in rectifying their deliberate error and I am now stuck in this dilemma not knowing how to go about to restore the damage they have caused.
Dear Chantal
According to the recorded voice mandate we have, you have agreed that we can proceed with the debt review application. A copy of the recording is available on request. However, you immediately requested that we should cancel the application prior to the issuance of the 17.2 accepted notification. This means we cancelled the application prior to be declared over-indebted. The 17.w was sent to your creditors and the NCR debthelp system(NCR DHS) was updated accordingly.
You can contact the credit bureaus to follow up because they update their systems from the info they receive from the NCR DHS.
For further assistance kindly call *** or e-mail ***
