Response to Ms Sylvia White's Allegations Re Rental Contract

MR Sekerheid & Innovations (Pty) Ltd responds as follows: The property was advertised and Nico Venter from our offices attended a site inspection with Ms Sylvia White, her parents and her partner. After the inspection the required forms and contracts was signed and the prospective tenants was requested to make payment immediately, as is the norm in the industry. Payment was made and only reflected in our account on Wednesday 21 June 2017 after the forms was signed on Monday 19 June 2017.

This is an estate house and steps needed to be taken to protect the property. Ms. White was given the opportunity to rent the property for a period of 6 months, as the estate would most probably then be finalized. Ms. White also had the opportunity to make an offer to purchase the property, as she indicated she was interested in this option at the site inspection. Ms. White declined this offer. The executor has made the decision to only offer the house for a period of 6 moths and this was in no way the decision of MR Sekerheid & Innovations (Pty) Ltd.

As all companies do we also follow certain procedures and thus we needed signed forms from Ms. White in relation to the cancellation of the contract. We did not refuse to speak to Ms. White; we only mentioned that the decision in regards to a 6 month rental option was final and that no correspondence will be entered into.

Ms. White’s money was refunded in full on 27 June 2017.

It remains any person’s own decision to enter into agreements and contracts and seek services from any person and/or company they deem fit to service their needs.
