VULGAR, EXPLICIT and DEROGATORY music inside store!!

I would like to make you aware of my family's worst shopping experience on 18 Dec 2023.

Myself and my wife took our 3 kids, aged 16; 13 and 9 to the Southdale branch for some Christmas shopping as we are frequent customers of the store.

We were in the store for 5-10 mins when I started noticing the music that was playing through the store speakers.

The song WAS THE MOST EXPLICIT hip-hop rap song I've EVER heard!!! The lyrics spoke about a man "blowing up into a woman's butt" , "spreading her legs open wide". This was only some of the lyrics I heard. Besides the swearing and vulgar language too.

I immediately went to the cashier's desk to ask for the store manager and they told me to go to the front of the store for the manager. I eventually found the assistant manager who advised that the manager had stepped out. I asked the assistant manager to stop what she was doing and to listen to what was playing. I asked her why that music was playing and she told me that she "didn't even notice it".

Whilst speaking to the assistant manager, my wife noticed that the staff at the cashier's desk were laughing at the fact that I had complained about the music. Belittling the fact that kids were being exposed to such VULGAR, Derogatory music inside a "FAMILY STORE".

Why is music being played from a staff member's phone?!!??!?!??!???!?!!?? Unless Mr Price has it's own music selection for all their stores and this VULGAR music is on your Playlist for every store?????!!!!

It was THE most embarrassing moment as a parent of a 9 year old listening to music about men doing such VULGAR ***ual and explicit acts to women!!! HOW DO I EXPLAIN TO MY KIDS WHAT ALL THAT EXPLICIT THINGS MEAN!!!!!!! How embarrassing for my daughters to hear what men do to women!!! How Mr Price's male staff treat women!!!

I have never had such a horrible shopping experience in my entire life!!!

SHAME ON YOU Mr Price!!!

I will NEVER set foot in another Mr Price or any of your group's stores EVER again!!!
