Voucher paid for but not received

I purchased an online gift voucher for a colleague that recently had a new born today, the money for the voucher was taken out of my account, however no voucher was received. I then called in and was told that the voucher takes 24 hours to be sent out which is very confusing for me. How do you take money then give an electronic voucher 24 hours later???

This service definitely needs improvement, with any vouchers purchased online everywhere else in the world you receive it immediately.
