Unfair

I am very disappointed with the way the Mr Price accounts department works. It is supposed to be a 12 month account and my total balance owing is R550 but they are requesting an instalment of R350. My instalment amount has stayed the same for the last five months. When I called customer services to enquire the lady I spoke to told me it is because I used my card to make purchases. I pointed out to her that my card was last used 6 months ago and she tells me that is why the instalment is R350. I have other store cards which calculate monthly instalments the correct way. That is your balance is divided among 6 or 12 months including interest and policies. I still cannot understand how a 12 month account became a 60 days one. Furthermore, my Mr Price account is over 10 years old and from the start I have been paying the monthly card insurance. However when I was retrenched last year and tried to claim I was told that not only do I need a retrenchment letter, a U-19 form, a letter from dept of labour and last 3 months bank statements but I also need an affidavit from the police station stating I am unemployed and an updated CV. I did a claim with Edgars and it was hassle free and sorted within a couple of weeks. Suffice to say I am paying off this balance and closing this account. I was a loyal customer and my account has always been up to date so I am disappointed with the Mr Price group. I will definitely not be making cash purchases at any of the Mr Price stores in the future.
