Store leader with bad attitude
I'm writing this letter to make a formal complaint about an incident at Mr. Price's store in N1 City Mall, Cape Town. On the 20th April 2025, my wife and I were shopping at the store mentioned above. There was a pair of white boots with black marks on them. My wife asked if there was another one in the same size, and the representative told her that it was the last one left. As we stood by the shoes, the representative brought the boot back and placed it on the shelf, and walked away. I asked my wife if he told you anything about the boot when he placed the boot back on the shelf next to you, as he just left. I approached him to ask what was happening as he just placed the boot next to us on the shelf, and was not saying anything, as the boot is now cleaned. He said, but I told her that’s the last one. I respectfully said, but we are interested in the boot, why couldn’t he tell us the boot is now clean, and if we are still interested or taking it; whereby he responded with “o ok”. I looked at his name badge (Envor) and realized it says “Store leader”. I was astounded that this was the store manager we were dealing with. I asked how he can approach customers in front of staff like with this unprofessional behavior, as he does not communicate properly and shows poor leadership qualities. His response once again was “ok”. He then said he will sort it out, whereby I asked him how, as we are here now and my wife is taking the boot, where he responded again with “o ok”. I told him this is no way to treat customers and especially in front of a whole line of staff at the tills, where I received no response from Envor(store leader). I further emphasized and asked how his staff will treat and respect customers as they see him leading by example and setting the tone for the entire store. There was no remorse or customer etiquette from Envor as the store leader, and he does not lead by example in the position he holds. I am shocked that Mr. Price employs a type of individual who has no regard for customer service, especially as management, and even worse, the store leader, who is spearheading an entire shop of this magnitude. I really hope the matter can be dealt with, or investigated, to put the customer service experience as the core value of operations in the business.
