Staff members kept aside items

Good Morning,

I was at Mr Price store, Claremont branch yesrerday 31 March 2021 to exchange a jacket for a bigger size only to find there is no bigger sizes in store so I asked the cashier to check which store has, Vangate store has 4 available.

Drove to Mr Price Vangate mall only to be told by the salesman who was unpacking stock that there aren't any available on the floor as they are kept aside at the back for staff members to buy.

Is this a Mr Price policy for items to be kept aside for staff members to buy? If it is, why not remove the items from the system completely as it give a false impression of available stock whereas there is no stock.
