Sickening Service
I placed an order online which I requested for collection at the Maynard Mall store - Wynberg. On Tuesday 07/05, i collected my order but requested to try on my items before leaving the store, to save myself from having to return to the store should I wish to return the items.
After trying on the items where a turban was included, my son's cap and a charm bracelet for my daughter, i discovered that the skirt was too small and did not like the material of the other item and the turban was not what I thought it would be. Without leaving the store, i went back to queue and gave the items I wanted to return. While waiting for the items to be processed, the one lady standing at the till that was assisting the cashier, tells me that they will not be returning the turban, I asked why and with so much attitude she tells me it is written on the back of the slip. In response, I tell her I bought this online and from my knowledge, undergarments and accessories such as earrings cannot be returned. She sighs and tells me it is a cosmetic so I must take it, I told her I will not as I do not want the item and it has not been worn, I have just opened the packet. I go online and try to search for the policy and nothing is stated about hats and caps. I then asked her to print the slip for me and she did and bangs the slips on teh table for me to read. The slip still did not state anything with regard to hats and caps.
With arrogance, she tells me she will go to her manager and ask her to tell me the same thing and starts speaking in Afrikaans, as though I do not understand, telling the one standing at the till that she knows that "this f*** thing will not be done but I am full on myself" - I live in the Western Cape and I come from a multiracial family so clearly some people are left in the past.
The lady comes back and tells me this will be done for me just this once but they do not accept accessories. I do not know whether your staff do not know the difference between cosmetics and accessories. What health risks would there be in having to return a cap compared to having bra's accepted?
Furthermore, I showed the lady the policy on my phone as I had read up online, she just chewed on her bubble gum and rolled her eyes and as I left the store, there was a huge giggle.
I seldom shop at Mr. Price due to the lack of service and the sizes and I have never complained but because this is not the first encounter with this specific lady, this needs to be addressed.
No name tags were on the jackets but I caught a glimpse of the cashier's name, Nudan.
