Rude and Unprofessional customer service

I went to Mr Price at Woodlands mall to buy some items. I tried paying with a woodlands giftcard/voucher but the card was declined two times even though there was efficient funds on it. I decided to then pay with cash. After I finished my transaction I went to the information desk at the mall to check the balance on my giftcard and to find out why the transaction didn't go through. Then when the lady at the desk checked the balance on the card it was R0. 00 and a receipt clearly indicated that the payment did indeed go through at Mr Price. I went back to Mr Price to show them that the money went through so that I can get my cash back, otherwise I will be paying double. Then Mr Price rudely told me that it is not their problem it is a problem with the giftcard and they refused to pay me back my money. They told me that it is my problem and not theirs.

After going back to Mr Price and not receiving my money, I went back to the information desk where the lady tried calling Mr Price to tell them again that the transaction went through on the card, they told her that the money will bounce back on the card. Now I have to wait "a minimum of 3 working days" to see if the money returns to the card and if not they will perhaps take it from there.

I am very upset specifically because I wanted to use the voucher before it expires and also because of the way the situation was handled and the way in which I was treated in a very unprofessional way.
