****** | SEARCHING CUSTOMESRS BASED ON RACE

I have been shopping at Mr. Price all my life and have never felt more dehumanized.

On Sunday, the 3rd of February 2022, I went shopping with my mother and purchased two bags of clothes. After I left the store with my bags, a security guard rudely stopped me and asked for my receipts. Both bags were searched. Okay, I figured, it has to be standard practice. As I was leaving, a white woman with her child exited the shop as well. I turned around to see if she would be asked the same as I was, but she was just allowed to walk by. Perhaps it was my behavior that caused suspicion, however, the next black person exited the store and was searched as well, and the next was also searched, while white people passed through with no issues and no searches!

Why are we treated this way in 2022? Are all black people to be treated like *********?!

After this disgusting experience, I doubt I'll be able to visit Mr. Price at the Fourways Mall again. Is this how Mr. Price operates?
