Price increased for exchange
I bought Chino pants on Sunday 31 May 2020 at Mr Price Carlswarld. When I got home, they were too small for my child. I returned them on Tuesday 2 June at the same shop I bought from. Instead of exchanging them at the price I had bought for, I was charged an extra R130.
I asked them why the price had changed when it was an exchange & they said that if I wanted to exchange at the same price I should have done so on Sunday as the special had ended. Initially, the one pair of chinos was still at the price I bought for then they decided to adjust it to the new price.
The surprising thing is the advert was still there on their walls. Also, on Sunday when I initially bought the chinos; the cashier had to do a price adjustment to correct the price. I explained this to the 2 ladies Zamile & Mamol but they did not want to listen even though it was showing on the receipt I gave them for the exchange.
How is it that when I exchange goods, I have to pay more yet I am taking exactly the same item? Even if the promotion had ended, if I'm exchanging goods; surely they should be exchanged at the same price as long as it is the same item. I have had exchanges before at Mr Price Mall of Africa & I never had this issue of a price change. The only time that a price actually changes is when you do not get the size you want on the goods & have to opt for something else.
The cashier that assisted me is Zamile & the one who authorised the price increase is Mamol.
