Mr. Price has pathetic customer service.
I wrote this email to Mr. Price exactly 11 days ago.
Good morning.
I would like to lodge a complaint. Because of an injury to my foot I am very particular about what kind of shoes I can wear. I have found the perfect pair of flip flops in your store. The problem is that two of the three pairs that I have bought thus far have both broken in exactly the same place less than a year after I bought them. The first pair I figured that **** happens, but the second pair is a pattern. (Please see attached photos) What I would like to know from you is do you make it to break there on purpose so you can sell more products? I specifically keep to established and reputable stores, even if they are a bit more pricey, because I believe that they sell better quality products but if this is the quality of your products, I might as well shop at Shein or Temu which have the same quality at half the price. ( As a matter of fact, my niece bought a pair of flip-flops there almost 3 years ago for R60 that is still going strong) I have just bought a pair of running shoes from you and am now wondering if I should rather bring those back for a refund while I still have the proof of purchase if this is the quality of your products. Please let me know if you are going to replace this product with a GOOD quality product or if I will be doing my shopping at Shein from now on.
To this day, no one has even bothered to reply—not even an automated email to confirm receipt of my message.
This isn’t the first problem I’ve had with Mr. Price. I ordered some items online in December, which was probably a lapse in judgment on my part. Nevertheless, being the holiday season, the order took an exceedingly long time to arrive.
When I tried to contact their service department via WhatsApp, I was connected with someone who could barely speak English. While I’m all for giving someone a break, putting someone in customer service who can barely communicate in the target language is incomprehensible.
Recently, I lost my card. I paid off the balance on my account and sent an email requesting that the account be closed. I received a response informing me that my card had been stopped. However, instead of closing my account as I requested, they reduced my credit limit to zero and continued sending me bills every month. This little stunt cost me 12 points on my credit score. No account closure as requested, no inquiry into whether I’d like a new card, and no instructions on how to get one—nothing. All they did was damage my credit score.
And it goes on and on. When it comes to Mr. Price, there simply is no customer service. It seems they believe losing customers isn’t a big deal because they have millions. It’s pathetic that such a large company could consider this tragic level of customer service acceptable. It’s beyond me.
