Mr Price bad experience
I have been having a very frustrating experience with both MrPrice Instore and MrPrice online.
On the 1st of May, I had just came home from giving birth. I wanted to buy some items using my account but couldn’t go to the store.
I then called MrP to find out if I could send my husband to buy the items with my account card and give him my I.D. The person kindly explained that I couldn’t as it would be deemed as *****. The person then suggested I purchase a gift card rather and have my husband use it.
That made sense. I purchased the gift card online but to my surprise the voucher wasn’t instantly generated. I had to wait and after a few days it became pointless as I had to end up buying the needed using cash.
I then called in to try returning the voucher but it wasn’t possible, but that made sense.
After a month I went on store to finally use the voucher. Only to get to the till to be told that I cannot use the eGift voucher in store and I could only use it online because “Mrp and Mrp online are different and operate differently” , when I could clearly see the option on the payment options saying “eGift voucher”. When I asked about that the manager ended up saying “the option to pay with the gift voucher was stopped due to high number of *****”. Again, I ended up having to pay with the account when I didn’t plan to.
Finally, I decided to buy some items online so that I could use this voucher. The purchase went smooth. I redeemed my voucher successfully. So I paid the order with the voucher and had an outstanding amount which I paid with my account.
After the purchase I received an email to confirm the outstanding amount I paid on account.
Last night I was about to pay my account and noticed that the whole payment I did on that order was taken from the account instead of only the outstanding amount of R54.
I now just enquired about this on the MrP WhatsApp chat. The agent told me that the voucher failed to process while making the payment and was then blocked. I was told that the voucher would be reversed and I could use it to pay the account on the app or website. I tried doing this and there’s no option at all saying I can pay with the voucher. I informed the agent and the agent said I need to go to the store and pay there. I told the agent the voucher didn’t work instore and they said I need to use it online.
At this point it was now clear that I’m being **** to just so I can go to the next person.
I then asked the agent to please instruct me on where I should go online to do the payment for my account using the voucher as I couldn’t find it (I sent screenshots).
The agent went around the bush not answering me and eventually said I should call the landline and resolved and closed the chat.
This is so frustrating because I have a 7 week old baby which means I can’t just up and leave. When I did get the chance to go to store I was told one thing and online I’m told the other.
I’m now back with a gift voucher I cannot use. I don’t want this gift voucher. I had no plan to use my account to make the purchase online, I just wanted to get rid of the voucher. I even tried to cancel the order and have it refunded so that I could reorder with the voucher and I was told I can’t.
At this point I’m so frustrated because Mrp is inconveniencing me with my time, financially and messing up my credit score.
I don’t understand why I’m sent back and forth when they’ve been on the wrong.
I’m extremely disappointed. I would send in screenshots of the lies I was told but there’s no option to do so here.
