Made to feel like a ********

Last year 31 August 2016 I unfortunately lost my job. I couldn’t afford to pay my Mr. Price account. This was a very heart breaking time for me. I have had my Mr. Price account for +-7 years. Never missed a payment therefore felt I was a loyal customer. With my monthly payments I too paid for the customer protection insurance (also for seven years). I was hounded by rude staff making me feel like a ********. I submitted the Mr. Price Claim Form on 7 November 2016. When I took the initiative to constantly follow up on the progress thereof, each week I would get the same answer ‘It will be sorted today and we will get back to you the same day’. This continued for 4 (four) months therefore showing the arrears outstanding even longer. I then managed to get a part-time job and sent them a letter stating that I was withdrawing my claim and offered to pay R250-00 per month and should I be in a position to pay more I would. A consultant, namely, Mr. B Pillay made contact with me who confirmed that this arrangement was fine and he would make a note of it on the system. I was very thankful for his assistance and understanding only now to receive threatening e-mails and text messages from a legal company named Associated Credit Specialists. I then sent them the arrangement letter I had sent to Mr. Price and made contact with them only to be told that they are not Mr. Price who have handed me over?? I am extremely disappointed that it has come to this after I diligently kept them up to date. My frustration is that firstly, I have had this account for 7 years including the insurance protection. Where has that contribution for the last 7 years gone too? I always paid my account and now that I was in ‘trouble’ they were quick not to assist me and further assist me with something that I paid for? They have made me feel like a ********. Why do we get offered all these extras if we cannot put them to use? So disappointing from Mr. Price. You get offered all these wonderful ‘extra’s’ only not to be so ‘wonderfully put to use’. Oh and they’ve handed me over but still send me marketing material?? Go figure…. I now this morning received an sms stating ‘due to lack of co-operation regarding your Mr. Price account, you have been handed over to our Attorneys”. This after I made the arrangements and that my first R250-00 payment will be paid by the 31st of March 2017. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
