If the shoe was on the other foot

Last weekend I went to the Cavendish MRP and found a spectacular pair of flatform sneakers, size 3 too! What a dream! I picked them up, ready to purchase them, when I noticed a scuff on the side of the white platform. These were the only 3s in the shop. However, dissapointed, I put them down and remembered that I could buy them online (scuff free)!

Upon arriving home, I went online and made the purchase (with an additional R45 delivery fee). But no worries because these sneakers were totally worth the delivery fee, parking fee and time.
I soon received a notification saying that the parcel had been dispatched - from Cavendish (the store I had originally found the pair at). Now knowing that it had been a day since I'd been there and there was only one size 3 in the shop (with a scuff) I was almost certain that I was being couriered the exact pair I did not want to buy.

I mailed MRP customer service to tell them that they were probably sending me the damaged pair I'd tried to avoid purchasing and received the response that I could indeed return them. What a relief, after the time, parking fee and delivery fee I should be re-assured that I could GO BACK to the shop (with only one pair of damaged size 3s) to return them and leave with less money, less time and still no size 3 undamaged sneakers.

Needless to say the package arrived with the exact pair that I had picked up and put back down after paying for delivery in the hopes of receiving an undamaged product and a convenient shopping experience.

It was initially dissapointing to see damaged product on the shelf, as well as receiving a non chalant response from customer service and then to top off the shopping experience by being sent on a wild-time-consuming-pricey goose chase for a pair of undamaged shoes.

Do better MRP.

Hi there,

I was offered a R45 voucher in liue of the delivery fee, and then told that I could go to Canal walk to receive a new pair (not convenient).

Thereafter I was told I could wait up to 3 weeks to have a pair of undamaged shoes delivered to Cavendish.

I've asked CC to try to arrange for a faster delivery to Cavendish (as a compromise) but alas I have heard nothing back.

This is absolutely ridiculous! What should have been a simple online order of undamaged product has turned into a waste of money and wild goose chase.
