I just want to close my account. Mr Price makes this task almost impossible.

I have paid my Mr Price account in full and all I want to do is to permanently close my account. I do not know why this is such a cumbersome process. For example, I went to the Northgate store to try to close my account. The manager indicated that they cannot help me to do this in store as I was required to call the 0861 customer support number. I subsequently went home and I ended up spending over 30 minutes on a call to the helpdesk line. I was transferred from department to department with no luck at all. I then tried using the WhatsApp chat line as well. But that too resulted in a "sorry we cannot help you today" reply. Why is it the easiest thing in the world to open an account, but so very challenging to close your account?
