Horrible customer service!!

I visited MrPrice Clothing Matlosana Mall 2 January 2019. At the till the cashier scanned my shopping and I payed with my debit card. The machine was not a normal card machine, but looked like the kind that you can plug into a cellphone also. The machine clearly stated APPROVED after the transaction, but the wifi cut out and no confirmation slip could be printed.

The cashier called the manager to assist. She checked on the system and said the payment did not reflect yet, it would only show after 48 hours. I wanted to return the goods and cancel the transaction, but she said she could not do that - since her system showed no transaction. After 15 minutes of waiting for her to figure out what to do, she insisted I had to pay AGAIN!!

She took my phone number and email address and said she would follow up with me within 48 hours, to do a refund or confirm if the transaction did not go through twice. The transaction DID go through double on 4 January 2019 - according to my bank statements. Today, a WEEK later, I still have not heard anything from MrPrice!!

I go to MrPrice to SAVE MONEY. Now, I ended up paying DOUBLE!!

I feel the manager did not handle the situation correctly. I also worked in retail and my solution would have been to ask the customer to leave the package and come back before they leave the mall so I had more time to sort out the problem without causing inconvenience to the customer. It was after all MrPrice's mistake which I ended up paying for - DOUBLE!

The LEAST I expected after a horrible customer experience was for MrPrice to contact me.

I expect a swift solution from MrPrice Head Office.
