Gift Card Rejected By Website!

Good morning. I bought a gift card for my daughter's birthday in October. I bought it in store when I was shopping. However when she tried to use it online the website refused to accept the code. And when I phoned customer care I was told that gift cards bought in store could not be used online. Even though the card itself states that it can, "The value of this card is redeemable at any MRP clothing store, on the MRP app, or at mrp.com."

The card even tells you how to use it online. But obviously that doesn't work as mrp.com just rejects the code. They told me that the store clerk was supposed to inform me that the card could not be used online, which she did not do, and that there is nothing that your customer service can do. It is already Christmas and she has not had an opportunity to visit a Mr Price store. If I had known that she cannot use it online, I would never have bought the gift card. This is false advertising.
