Enquiry on a paid up account

My account was handed was handed over in 2014 and i paid it fully via a debit order as it was requested by the debt collectors. I can't recall the debt collector who was assigned by MR PRICE. I recently tried to open the MR Price account and it was declined saying i still owe them. Im really shocked about this and i need assistance. Please help
