Disgusting assistance by supervisor at Mr. Price in Bayside

My fiancé was desperately looking for a skinny high rise jeans in a size 44. We were in Canal Walk this Saturday past and they told us that Mr. Price in Bayside Mall was showing 10 in stock. I never had it set aside because the Canal Walk branch was about to close.

I went to the Bayside Mall Branch today, to go and buy the jeans for my fiance'. I went straight to the cash desk to ask for assistance and I was assisted by Anastacia Smith and Romecia Roman who were absolutely amazing. They announced for someone to assist me and after no assistance they were persistent in getting someone to assist me. I eventually got assistance but after 5min of the one staff member looking for the jeans, she was unable to find it. The supervisor on duty told me that there was no stock in store. But, Anastacia confirmed with me again that there was in fact stock on hand.

I was going back and forth with the supervisor who was completely disrespectful and undermining when she told me that it could be that the stock was still on it's way, but it's not in the store yet. I've worked in retail before and I know exactly how IBTs and store deliveries work. How is it possible that there is stock on hand and it's still in transit? Does it make sense?!

This wasn't even the most shocking part; she then told me that she would show me the stockroom so I could see for myself that the stock was not there. How is this even allowed?! In all my years of being in retail I have never allowed a customer into the stockroom; firstly, because it's against store policy and secondly it's a huge red flag and a major concern. I urge that the regional and area managers look into this matter urgently.

When I asked for her name and surname because I told her I wanted to lay a complaint, she was reluctant to provide her details, which I understand due to POPIA. I have my reasons being the fact that she allowed a customer into a restricted area and secondly because she tried to undermine my intelligence. She informed me that her manager allows customers into the stockroom.

My fiance' then went to Table bay and was lucky to find the jeans there. The store manager, who assisted her was absolutely amazing and was able to find the pants in no time. She displayed the perfect example of how a leader should carry herself. A big thank you to her for her excellent customer service.

This review needs to be taken into serious consideration. Mr Price bayside lost a sale and who knows how many sales are lost on a daily basis as a result of poor leadership and appalling customer service.
