Defamation of character

I had a bit of an unpleasant experience with Mr Price wonderpark. I was shopping around the mall for a gift for my friend ( I ended up buying three items for her which costed more than a R2000+ and I end up filling up my trolley) in the mist of all of this I ended up getting a call from my little sister to buy her a lip balm at Mr Price wonderpark. I went inside the store ended up taking R50+ wipes and placed it in my trolley, I ended up not finding my little sister's lip balm and on the other hand the queue was very long, I ended up heading out of the store, without realizing that I forgot to place back the wipes that I took earlier (let's keep in mind that the wipes were literally on top of the trolley not inside any of the items that I bought from other stores not even inside my personal handbag but just right on top of the trolley like a regular shopper would place them) As I was heading out the security guard had pointed out the wipes, and I immediately started apologizing,because I had forgotten to place them back, which I then explained to the security guard because my intention was never to take them without paying, if my intention was to take them without paying I could have easily placed the wipes in my personal handbag or inside one of items in my trolley. This matter escalated to the point where the security guard and store manager painted a picture of me as a ***** in front of the customers that were there on that particular day, they ended up saying I should pay for the wipes or they'll call the police. I ended up paying for the wipes without no argument from my side. I solely believe that every security guard is well trained and experienced enough to spot a ***** and genuine human error. I believe that the treatment that I got on that particular day was highly unacceptable from the store manager and security guard, I also believe that they both knew that it was a genuine human error as they didn't even search through any of the personal belongings that I had. I really believe that they took advantage of the situation as I am very young. I have never been humiliated and disgusted in my whole entire life

Moving forward, I'm definitely visiting the store again tomorrow to report this matter to the regional manager or any person of high power and position within Mr Price. I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone other person 💔
