Customer service down the drain
Had an extremely easy process with my online purchase however the treatment upon collection of my package was simply awful. I made the collection point Bayside Mall, firstly the guy at the "click and collect" section was preoccupied and looked offended that I needed assistance at his designated spot. Further I didn't find him to be the friendliest front line person as he stared at the screen and said order number and walked away completely ignoring my greeting etc. Long & short, I check contents of my order and await and invoice. He says it is in the bag, I say it's not. His response then is I don't know, call the online people.they supposed to put it there. Keeping calm and not wanting to leave without an invoice I ask if there isn't a way he can maybe print or ask them, cutting me off he says no it 2 different companies so he has nothing to do with it. He may be right, but as a consumer I don't care if I ordered from Timbuktu or Online, in that moment I am dealing with Mr price, and it's front line staff. With the most unhelpful attitude and customer service. Suffice to say I left frustated and not at the fact that I couldn't the invoice or help (online was very hands on in assisting when I got home) but more at the poor attitude and communication from your staff member. Never tell a customer to sort things out themselves , never explain away responsibility from a group based on its divisions and never be front line if you have no people skills. One should invest in proper training of their front line staff, conduct like that gives the Mr Price group a horrible image. Also in this day and age where spending on retail is a luxury in this economy, the staff should want to be kinder and maybe just a little bit more pro active.
