Customer Protection Plan

A few months ago I paid off my Mr Price account in total. One would therefore think it's paid up, nothing further owing. Suddenly this morning I opened up my statement (which I have been ignoring thinking it's paid off) to find that I now owe them an extra R23.45.

Lost card protection I can understand. Although I am sure I will have to pay for a new card if I lose the existing one anyway.

However, I am being charged R10.50 EVERY MONTH by Mr Price for "Customer Protection Plan" ... and no this doesn't mean I have a free armed security guard when I go out... it means they will pay off my account if for some strange reason I don't pay it. I will probably also be blacklisted.

My question: In this day and age, surely Mr Price can put a hold on this "Protection Plan" when the account is paid off?

How many account holders are there at Mr Price? If every one of them is paying R10.50 every single month, this must amount to several million rand each month.

I do not want this "Protection Plan". Mr Price is *****ing my money.
