Broken backpack refused refund

<p>Hi<br />I bought a backpack bag for my son at mr price in walmer park a week ago. Since i wasn't planning to return the slip, i threw it away. 2 days later the backpack strap broke.<br />Now yesterday i went to mr price walmer park to return the bag and was refused a refund without the receipt.</p> <p>Consumer protection act states that I am entitled to a full refund within a period of six months with product defect. <br />Please assist</p>
