Bluetooth headphones which don’t charge or play

I bought wireless Bluetooth headphones at Mr price in King Williams town last week but when I tried connecting them to my phone they did not play but when I took them back to the store the manager said they can’t take them back bcz something looks broken but when I bought them they never opened the box to test them and I told him even if something looks out of place that should not be the reason why they don’t play and he started being rude and said its my fault.
