Bad service and bad customer conduct as well as racisim

I am quite disappointed with the with the service I got the store . on Friday the 16th of December 2022 I drive from JHB to NV to visit my family but when I got town I thought let me get my brothers kids some clothes for Xmas . unfortunately I got there ,there was loadshadding which I found it a bit Ord that people were waiting outside to get in to the store ,but because it’s a small town I understood but what stood out for me is that the lights came back at 01:00 PM but the doors were opened 30minutes after . Eventually the doors were open , I went in had quick pick on the clothes then I went to the Queue ,which was by the door and understandable because there was a lot of customers . Behind me there was an Indian guy with his son with a basket full of clothes ,we stood there for the whole 30munites without the line even moving ,he said his going there to check what’s going on because although the store is packed but the line has to move . he went and came back with two bottles of water I then asked him where did he get he showed me the fridge ,by then he had already opened the water and drinking it . After 15minutes mysteriously the guy was called to the front for him to make his payment with his family because I remember he had to call his daughter who was still shopping as he was holding a Queue which was find ,I turned a blind eye on that because I did not want to cause any drama . Few minutes later the lady comes and asked me if I paid for the water that am drinking ? I said no am still in the que how am I supposed to do that ?she rep**** “you go pay for the water separately then you come back stand on the queue with the slip “ .my reply was I am willing to do so but am paying everything at once ,am having one transaction . her reply was ok and she left, same time they called security to come in . The security came to me ,mind you am still in the store have nothing ****** but security is called upon me .his approach was fine because he understood that I wanted to do one transaction ,he then took my basket to the front asking the ladies to scan everything for me since its something that is done if the person is having water and doing one transaction with the clothes. The response he got was very disrespectful ,not professional she said “no one is drinking water in the store without paying for water if you want to drink water pay for it then stand on the queue with the slip on your hand because we end up getting bottles on the floor because people drink and never pay !” I said “ I did not disagree on not paying although now you make me feel like am going to ***** the water all am asking is to make one transaction then leave” . Her response (Portia) “then you will drink this water after paying for it go back to the queue “ saying that she was taking the water for the security and putting it behind the counter ,I asked her the Indian guy behind me did the same thing ,he was never harassed not by security or any of you co-workers instead you made him jump the queue because he complained the you guys are very slow .and currently you talking to me in a very disrespectful meaner ,I then asked for her name then she told me she was Portia . I then told her that if it was protocol that was followed ,it should apply to everyone not to certain race ,I then told her that because you took this water from me without my concern and in this meaner I am not going to pay for it ,you took it from me you will pay for it ,then I went back to the queue . After an hour 30munit I got to the till and when the lady was busy scanning my clothes I then see a white lady coming to the other side of the queue and immediately when they saw her she was given attention ,I then asked the lady why is she not standing on the queue she rep**** “it’s because she is paying using a card and her items are less than six “ I then said but the kids behind me were dismissed by the guy whom they went to ask for their things to be scanned ,but they were told to come back to the line and they only have 4 item and having card payment as well . I finished my sale and went out ,when I was putting the clothes in my car security came running to me asking for my slip .i gave him he checked it and said there is no water ! I rep**** that I told the lady at the till that am not going to pay for the water because it was taken from me without my concern ,the person who took it from me will have to pay it because I had a reason why I was drinking this water . She refused that I was let out had a security to block me from leaving and told me to pay for the water ,then she left me standing there after I was furious she then called her Boss who after hearing the story he then asked the security to let me go . I was very angry when I left the store in the way that I even cried on my way home that we as a black nation we still do not have respect for each and still we make each other less valuable yet we bring the same money on the table . No store should be managed in that kind of character ,professions behaviour even the leadership skills were impaired. I will like to follow up if the disciplinary majors were followed to Portia even if I will have to drive down to her hearing as a witness I am willing to do so .
