bad promotin

I opened an account online for mrprice store and there was an advert that first purchase of R700+ I will get R150 off, I went the Sammy marks store and made the purchase and the lady who assisted me told me I need a reference number which will come through sms which up till now I have not yet received it, on Saturday I went to Bloed mall Mrprice and was told to go back to the actual store, I called the services call centre they sent me to the Sammy marks store and that the should use a "promo code" and I did guess what, they want me to buy for another R700 to qualify and that will mean I had to spend R1400 to qualify
