Appalling treatment & search
Very disgruntled at how MRP allows & gives their employees permission to harass customers.. I had my handbag, backpack with clothing change & cosmetics for an overnight stay at home because I got news that my dad died a few days ago. I went to MRP look for a funeral outfit, when I got to the door I was shock at the employee in charge of sanitizing & sealing bags asked a customer to open her bag right at the door. My bag was sealed, no mention of a search & seizure process was mentioned to me & I went in & shopped. At the till, I paid & the cashier asked if I wanted a bag or will use the bag I walked in with, I made mention of the employee at the door & I was told the employee was put at the door especially because she does security work well. I proceeded to the door & opened my bag so they will be able to have a look in as I saw being done when I entered the store. The employee at the door, then asked to look in my open my handbag, she searched the bag with my purchase & then asked to have a look in my backpack I agreed & I asked her to ensure it's properly closed. She opened my bag & without my permission rummaged through my possessions. I took my bag off my back I was told, she has to search my bag, I informed her that I have underwear & cosmetics. To my shock my bag was being rummaged & emptied at the door. I unloaded the bag off my shoulder & put on the floor & told her to pack my belongings as they were. Not once, was I informed I am suspected of shoplifting or that that's the new process of the store previously when I have shopped at the store. I believe I was unreasonably searching, humiliated as my underwear & cosmetics were pulled out of my bag without consent or I should have been asked to a private room & searched. I have never shopliftted in my life, I have been loyal to the brand because of its affordability but the disregard for my dignity was too much.. I am appalled & disgusted.
