Mr Plumb - Avoid like the plague ****erally).
Mr Plumb is by far the most dishonest and lack of any integrity company I've ever dealt with. Called them this morning to come out to replace a faulty outdoor tap of mine. I clearly and explicitly asked the lady about any call out fees and charges which the response was "No, the guys will come out and advise you, they have a card machine".
The plumbers arrived a few minutes later and checked the tap I pointed out and within 5 seconds, confirmed my thinking that the tap needs to be replaced. The gentlemen then proceeded to check his pricing catalogue and came back with a total price of +-R1500 to replace a single outdoor tap (you can get from Builders for less than R200 easily).
Then there was a back forth conversation between the Mr Plumb employees on site and their offices about the price. The office insisted I pay an inspection amount of +-R500 which I refused (as any rational person would do).
Eventually I get hold of Maria (ah the arrogance of the women, cannot be forgotten). She proceeds to tell me the prices and including and excluding VAT. Does not listen to anything else until I responded with, if you insist on this course of actions, please reach out to my lawyers and chase your precious few hundred rands. Finally, Maria (the arrogant) conceded and said, "It's fine" (what a detailed response and feedback to receive, I'm warm and fuzzy at the moment). She did proceed to say, "Don't threaten me" which I responded with, "Mam, I'm not threatening you, if there is a threat, it's for your company".
So, in summary folks, spread the word of how ********* Mr. Plumb and Maria are so they feel the impact as I believe this is a standard business practice of theirs whereby, they don't clearly explain to clients costing and surprise them with prices that could only be justified if the material was made of gold or platinum maybe.
