Use these Guys If You Want To Be Overcharged

Please do not do business with Mr DStv. I got them in to see why my signal is weak after my DStv was hit by lightning. According to the technician they had to replace the LNB and the cable between the dish and the decoder.

I told them to go ahead and within 30 minutes the job was done and I was presented with the invoice. I nearly passed out when I saw the cost. R6,032.75 with a optical LNB costing R1,800.00 (with LNB prices varying between R290.00 and R699.00 when doing a Google search) and the 34 meter cable at R78.00 per meter costing me R2,652.00 (while the cheaper option is R13.00 per meter)

When I complained bitterly about the exorbitant cost I was informed by the technician that they do have cheaper options but that they were ordered by the owner to install the more expensive options. For example cable costing R13.00 per meter instead of R78.00 per meter. The bottom line is that they did not inform me that there are cheaper options or gave me the option of choosing between the cheaper and expensive options and automatically installed the expensive options.

They did not even give a warning of how expensive it is going to be. The installers insisted on a card payment before they left.
