MR DSTV - ***

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE ******. I requested them to come and check my installation as I kept getting error messages on my secondary decoder. I was in a hurry so I did not do any research on this company. Two "technicians" arrived in a smart Toyota Fortuna. The one man's name was Chris. He answers the telephone when calling the number, ***. They charged me R1590.00 for a smart LNB and R490.00 each for 2 nway splitters which retail for R150.00 on line. The total bill came to R3790.00 which they insisted I pay before they left the premises. everything seemed to be working so I paid and rushed off to my meeting. Later that evening when I returned home, the same error messages showed on my TV. I called DSTV help line who tried to help me over the phone, but to no avail. I went to the DSTV Agency in Garsfontein and they replaced the secondary decoder as I had insurance. I then used an accredited installer on line, who I strongly recommend. They are "TV + video doctor" in Centurion. They found the following: 1. The Smart LNB was an old cracked one. 2. The cables had not been joined or connected properly. 3. the entire installation had to be done over including a new LNB for which they charged only R650.00. 4. The 2 way splitters were unnecessary.
