No show after deposit was paid 10 months ago

Johan van Jaarsveld visited my premises for some handyman work to be done. I paid a R2000 deposit for a total work task of approx. R2500 in December 2014 already. After numerous phone calls and promises (never offering to pay back the money) over the last 10 months I have not seen him again. In effect he stole R2000. To think he still answers his phone every now and again and knows who I am shows the arrogance of this man.
