Goedkoop is duurkoop

They say "goedkoop is duurkoop" and that saying rings very true for Mr Cheap Transport.

Firstly - they arrived 2 hours late, which meant that we couldn't handover the keys as planned and had to pay an extra days' rent.

Secondly, when booking the service, I explicitly told Mariska Naidoo (the branch manager who processed my booking) that the inventory list I gave when they quoted was not the full list and that there were more items. She assured me that it would not be a problem on the day and that they would move all items from my house and simply charge a little extra should there be more.

Come moving day, the movers rocked up at 4pm on a Friday afternoon, with the outdated list (which I informed them was outdated) and proceeded to only take the items on the list. When I asked them what was going to happen to the rest of my things which were not on the list (which again I was assured via email would not be a problem to move), the supervisor simply rep**** "I work according to the list." Everytime I voiced my concerns to him, the answer I got was "I work according to the list".

I tried to phone their manager Mariska, but she didn't answer, I sent her a msg which she read, but she never responded. Eventually Mr Cheap left me with half my home contents to move by myself, I had to then organise trailors and friends to move the rest the next morning.

The movers also made a terrible mess of my things - I labelled every box with where it should go, but I found boxes littered all over the place in the wrong rooms. I put fragile stickers on all my fragile boxes, but those were ignored and heavy boxes were piled on top of fragile boxes crushing precious items. I even made a blueprint of the house showing where all the furniture must be placed, but things were just dumped everywhere with complete disregard.

I tried to call Mr Cheap afterwards - no answer. No apology, no feedback or response. Shocking, shocking service!!!!

What an awful experience, I really wish I never went with them and booked Go Gorilla Movers instead as I have used them before and they are brilliant, but were unfortunately unavailable on the day I needed to move.

So if you want to end up with unreliable movers who rock up 2 hours late, break your stuff, don't give a damn about their customers and leave you with half your stuff move yourself - by all means go with Mr Cheap.

I will make sure that I warn everyone I know to not go with this horrible company. They couldn't care less about their customers or your goods.
