Refuses refund for incorrect part

Be very careful when using this place!

Having first used Andrew/MPC Motor Spares in September 2023 and being impressed with the service we again reached out to him for supply of an ECU in May of this year supplying a list of compatible control module numbers. Unfortunately second time was NOT the charm. He was able to supply one from the list which was collected 13 May which turned out to be faulty. Requesting a replacement we then only received this on 24 May, despite us explaining our concern that the replacement modules number did not reflect on the compatibility list we were assured it had been tested in a similar vehicle and would work, which of course it didn't.

On 28 May we requested a refund in order for us to courier the incorrect part back to him, this has been safely wrapped and sitting in a bag waiting for despatch. To date we have not received these funds and instead have been given numerous excuses such as:

- Payment to our account kept reversing - Limits on the account being reached - The same card getting blocked due to using incorrect pin - He claimed a deposit had been made at a Capitec ATM to our FNB account - No proof of deposit could be given as the slip was allegedly in his vehicle at another workshop. Eventually get told after pestering for proof that he'd deposited to incorrect account and was battling to get the funds back - Waiting for a sale to get the funds - Finishing a job in order to obtain funds

When pointing out similar reviews and asking what is going on I get told its got nothing to do with me and those unhappy customers issues had been resolved.

Having tried our utmost to resolve this amicably and allowing ample time for Andrew to sort things out I am now left with no choice but to pursue legal action and to share our experience as we have now not only been essentially ****med out of money but are stuck with a control module we cannot use, as well as the loss of a customer and all future work on three of their vehicles as a result of his actions
