Total horror-struck with Moyo’s Ushaka Durban
<p>Hi.....i would like to lodge a complaint for the horrible service received from Moyo Ushaka. My sister and I had planned a family celebration dinner celebrating 3 birthdays and an anniversary and thought Moyo’s restaurant would be ideal as we were happy with the menu and presentation/décor on their website and besides years back we had been to the one here in Johannesburg which was fantastic. On the 08.08.2016 my sister reserved a table at their main restaurant for Sat 27 August 2016 with Nokwanda Mbambo, the confirmation email was received on 10.08.2016 with the booking confirmation. She also received an sms with the booking confirmation on the morning of 27.08.2016 @ 09:06</p> <p> </p> <p>On the evening of 27.08.2016, I had called the main restaurant to let them know we were on our way and was advised by Owen that we were moved to the pierre restaurant as they had a function at the main restaurant and when I asked him how could they do that without advising us all I received was a ‘SORRY’ I also mentioned the fact that we were concerned with the weather being cold as we had a baby and kids with us but was told the pier restaurant has an upstairs seating which is very warm inside.</p> <p> </p> <p>As this news was thrown to us at the last minute, we still decided to go to the pierre restaurant and try to make the best of it but when we arrived there which was very cold the manager (a lady I didn’t get a name for) advised that she had just found out about us and that they would seat us downstairs as there was also a function upstairs. The downstairs area was quite open and breezy, they put together 3 coffee tables for us to wine and dine on – how is one to bend down and eat on coffee tables…REALLY???? We told them its fine we will leave as we were not prepared to be treated like animals</p> <p> </p> <p>I still can’t believe going all the way to Durban from Johannesburg and receiving such horrible service from Moyos Ushaka, no sympathy for messing up our booking, no sympathy for the fact that we had a baby and under 5 year old kids with us…they didn’t even try to accommodate us in any way..NO SYMPATHY AT ALL!!</p> <p> </p> <p>I will never go to that restaurant or recommend it ever!</p> <p> </p> <p>Totally disgusted!!!!</p> <p>Lamique van der Merwe </p>
