Moving Kiwis interested in cash not customer service

We recently used Moving Kiwis to relocate home within Auckland. Whilst they charge per hour the rates are quoted excluding tax. Another item to watch for is that they start charging their hourly rate from when they leave their depot which is allegedly anything from 1 to 2 hrs away. This charge similarly applies when they leave and you have no way of verifying this claim. The most infuriating aspect of the move is when they damaged a painting and the owner just started sprouting policy instead of acknowledging the issue and being empathetic. Another problem is the fact that they demand immediate payment and force their staff not leave your property once the invoice has been issued. Moving is very stressful and when moving into a new house you generally do not have access to the internet or your regular equipment so demanding immediate payment is really unacceptable at that very trying time. weirdly they also want to take screenshots of your computer to prove payment, rather that following generally accepted proof of payment processes. Using the people you have been with the whole day as enforcers is abhorrent and embarrassing for not just the client but the workers also. After raising the issue with the owner, I gave up talking to the business owner who then started harassing my wife by phone.

The day of your move is incredibly stressful. Please avoid this company as they are not interested in customer service rather they are focused on cash and how to get it out of you using ******ive methods at a time when you are tired and vulnerable.

Reviewer Update
The leadership team contacted me to remove the review. They were very insistent that they were customer focused and offered me 120NZD as a remedy. This is hardly an acknowledgement or reflective the distress that was inflicted during the move and not the purpose of me posting the review. I refused and proposed a more appropriate remedy that shows that they are committed to actually serving their customers and that they have in deed made the changes that they had indicated in their communication to me.
The remedy I proposed was that they would give me a significant discount on a future move. The motivation being that they could prove they had implemented the changes and to offer them an opportunity to once again do business with me. The terms were clear, uncomplicated and confirmed via email by all parties. They indicated that before they reduce the offer to writing I would need to remove my reviews. In good faith I did so. During the ensuing period the leadership team set about delaying and backtracking on the terms and trying to place all sorts of restrictions and limitations on what was originally agreed. As it stand I have no offer and the Moving Kiwis team have reneged on their remedy offer and made a mockery of the resolution process.
All this once again proves how ************* this company is and that they are only after the cash and the removal of bad reviews rather than actually changing and providing great service.

TL;DR: Do not remove your reviews for the pennies they offer and do not trust this company.
