Denied patients rights
denied patients rights & mis- treated . Dear Mr./Ms. [To whom it may conern ] I am writing this letter because im currently traumatized due to being denied my rights and as being mis treated at your private facility. I contacted my appointed gp at 11am informing her of the symtoms and pains i have being having my gp asked me to take a asprin and call her back to inform her how i was feeling ,for 20 mins the pains I have been experiencing has stopped and then returned back hard and really painful literally un bearable I was then asked by my gp to rush to trauma because my symptoms seemed like a heart attack (cardiac arrest ) . With hope and expectations I went to trauma @ life mountedgecome hospital accompanied by my mom at 12pm I waited for 30 mins until I started to cry in pain my mom rushed into trauma to get a nurse to assist me .The nurse then directed me to a bed and she did my blood pressure she advised it was currently low as well as an ECG and I was asked to wait because the doctor at trauma was on lunch at 1:15 pm I requested a glass of water as my pains were getting stronger and my mouth began to get really dry it's now 9 hours later and I'm writing this letter I still didn't receive the glass of water . Around 1:30 pm the Dr s maharaj walks in and asked me what happend I explain he asked me to bend from he knocked me with a fist on the back of my neck and said you are experiencing muscular pain you have BONE DISEASE CALLED OSTEOSARCOMA . He then requested bloods and xrays I did my bloods and xrays still in so much of pain and discomfort I then began to cry again because the pains were getting stronger a nurse came to me she gave me 2 injections on my left arm and left at 2:08 pm they refused to allow my mom in the Dr s maharaj asked her to wait outside Around 4pm I could see the pains were returning and it was how sharp and had a burning effect I could see the blood pressure machine drop rapidly in numbers my blood pressure was 76 /100 and my heart rate was dropping to 64 the siren from the blood pressure machine started to go off and no one attended me with fear I took out my phn and started to record the machine to send to my mother that was outside, I called a nurse and asked her to give me something for the pain she rep**** I'm coming but never came 4:30pm the Dr asked me if he could discharge me I rep**** I'm not stable the pain is still coming and stopping repeatedly how am I supposed to go home He refused to treat me he refused to admit me or give me a letter stating I'm discharged I reported him to the medical council as well as the nurse who attended was absolutely rude she addressed me as this thing I have alos reported her and I'm currently awaiting feedback I don't advise anyone to use this facility as the service is terrible if I was about to take my last breath and I needed that water really really badly the staff at the hospital would have failed to assist really disappointed

Curious, and upset I said okay give me a letter stating that you are diagnosing me with bone disease and I will ask
my gp to refer me to a specialist He rep**** sorry I can't do that I'll try and admit you however I need to speak to the
case manager for discovery and I'll get back to you
Discovery case manager comes to me and states the Dr has advised me that you have BONE disease and we will
need an Auth code for your admission , but Discovery needs to get a few documents from your appointed gp for
an investigation for pre existing at 4 :51 pm I call my appointed gp and I asked the receptionist to speak with the
discovery case manager and the receptionist told her we are now closing gp has already left we can only assist on
the 04/07/2025 @ 10:30 am
The discovery case manager told me don't stress u will remain here at trauma till we get the Auth code from your
gp tomorrow because we had contacted them to late and I said okay .
5:15 pm Dr s maharaj comes to be and he says Mrs nundlall discovery has declined your Auth there is nothing we
can do to assist so I informed him that the pain is still present and he must give me a letter stating that he
discharged me
He said he also can't do that he will now call reception and ask them to send me a bill in order for me to be treated
which I need to pay in cash until discovery gives the Auth code he sent me a bill of R210 000 for hicare (icu) as
well as theater fees included and cardiac intensive care unit I broke down in tears because I knew this Dr was now
trying to be mean to me because he informed discovery I was suffering from bone disease but on a cash bill his
charging me for my cardiac issue so I started to question the Dr on why was the billing differnt and why couldn't
he just admit me in a general ward until the morning he walked out of the room and stated you ask to much
questions
A nurse then came in and called for another nurse and said move this thing from here we need the bed for another
patient I then asked her who do you think you speaking to were is your work ethics - at that time my husband
walked in and I asked him to please get the details of that nurse so I could take it up the Dr s maharaj started
screaming and pressed the panic button as if my husband was assaulting someone I asked my husband to leave
Dr s maharaj then came back to me and said I must let him know when I have the money for the bill then only will
he treat me I then called for the sister in charge of the hospital it was then 6:15 pm I was asked to leave trauma
and wait at reception still in pain I waited until she arrived she told me to wait as she is going to speak to the
doctor she returned to me and said it was time for night shift to come in and she will get the night manager to
assist me . A nurse then came to me and stated that the Dr said life mountedgecome hospital doesn't have the
equipment to see to a cardiac patient they send them to life enterbeni hospital I requested then can yourl refer me
she didn't come back with a response
8pm the night manager got back to me and stated that the Dr didn't want to see or treat me in the presence of my
husband afraid I requested I want my husband to be there the night manager then stated the Dr s maharaj has a
terrible attitude and it's hard to speak to him I should wait for the next doctor to come in it was already 9 pm still in
pain I decided to return back home instead of still sitting on the chair at reception
The night manager promised to take it up has I was denied my rights and denied proper treatment at the hospital
he also asked me to come back if the pain becomes un bearable
9 hours of waiting in pain and discomfort for a private facility that we pay for 9 hours later I still didn't get a glass
of water or a meal but I watched patients opposite me get meals this is honestly unfair to be treated in this
manner , I was crying in pain while the staff were laughing about a bargin deal at clicks no professionalism at all
I had to complete my review under reply so everyone has full information of how I was treated for a service we pay for id rather sit at a government hospital from now on and I would never ever go back
