****em Johnson - Mount Everest Beds - provides false information, is rude and insulting, refuses after sales service.
****em Johnson places posts for beds on many Facebook sale groups in Durban and surrounding areas. As my domestic worker's bed needed to be replaced at her home, I searched through the groups, trusting that those allowed to use these platforms were verified suppliers. On 10 August 2018 I saw an ad which he had placed on the Facebook group 'Durban North Buy and Sell' offering a 'double pillow top quality bed' at a discounted price due to it being slightly 'shop soiled'. I was assured that there was nothing wrong with the bed, only slight small marks. I felt that receiving a R1,000 discount in that case would be a good buy, and arranged for it to be delivered to her home COD. It was delivered on a hand written delivery note reflecting the name Mt Everest Beds. The person making the delivery said that a proper invoice would be sent. Also that if she was not satisfied with the bed, it could be exchanged. My helper found the bed extremely uncomfortable, describing it as a pile of springs with a thin cover on the top. I then endeavoured to get the promised invoice in order for an exchange to be arranged. In the meantime she found her old bed more comfortable, and slept on that while waiting for an exchange. Despite many requests on WhatsApp messages, as he doesn't answer his phone, an invoice was never supp****, and when I asked for the exchange as promised, delay tactics were app****. I eventually established that the bed supp**** did not resemble the photo sent to me by the seller prior to purchase at all. Bottom line is that it was a piece of unusable junk, and no exchange was forthcoming. I then looked on the 'Mount Everest Beds' Facebook page and saw a negative review from a previous client. She had also put her complaint forward on Hellopeter under Mount Everest Enterprises. She had received a bed which was broken, dirty and foul smelling. Her issue with them was also unresolved, and she was threatened by ****em. I also posted a negative review on their Facebook page. In response I was sent demeaning insults, calling me 'dishonest' a 'fool' and a '****'. As the holidays were approaching by then, and I needed a comfortable bed for my helper who suffers from chronic pain, I bought a new bed from a different supplier. She is now still storing the bed supp**** by ****em Johnson in her tiny house, causing much inconvenience. As a pensioner, I really couldn't afford replacing the bed at my own expense. I need the bed to be collected ASAP and the money refunded, as well as having this individual blocked from advertising on Facebook groups. I hope you can assist in some way. Failing that I will institute legal proceedings as I consider this case to be theft. Many thanks.
